One of the most talked about smartphone in the market today is the Google Nexus One. It’s one of the fastest smartphones sold in the market.
Nexus One is a smartphone carrying the name of Google – a multinational public cloud computing and internet search technology corporation. Google partnered with the HTC Company to create the Android powered smartphone. Although, HTC is the one manufacturing the phone, the designs and product specifications were planned by Google.

Overview
The Nexus One appears to be similar in design with the iPhone. The Android phone has no physical keyboard which results to a slimmer phone. The phone is only 11.5 millimeters thick and it weighs 130 grams.
The bottom of the phone has four touch buttons, the back button, menu button, home button and search button. It also has a trackball pointing device below the screen and volume controls at the side. The Nexus One comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen which displays vibrant images.
The phone has 250 hours standby, 7 hours talk time, 5 hours of 3G Internet, 20 hours of audio playback and 7 hours of video playback.
Software
The Nexus One supports different kinds of applications like Google Voice, Voice Keyboard, and Live Wallpaper. Google Voice allows users to assign their Google Voice number into the phone for text messages and outbound calls.
With the Voice Keyboard application, every text field is voice enabled. Users can use the microphone button which will convert the words into text. The Voice Keyboard is said to be accurate 90% of the time.
Through the Live Wallpaper application, users can choose from a variety of settings. There’s the Grass setting where blades of grass wave gently. There’s also the Water wallpaper which when touched would produce a rippling effect.

Hardware
One of the most appreciated hardware feature of the phone is its AMOLED capacitive touch screen. This latest technology allows it to produce vibrant images perfect for viewing web pages and for watching videos. The 1 GHz Snapdragon processor is also a reason to appreciate this mobile phonee. It’s one of the fastest processors used on mobile phones. The 1 GHz Snapdragon processor makes running of applications on the phone faster.
The mobile phone also has noise cancellation feature. The phone has an additional microphone at the back that monitors and cancels noise. The camera is better than the cameras of other phones. It comes with 5 megapixels and LED flash. It also has autofocus and smile detection features.
In a constantly evolving industry, mobile phone manufacturers are always looking into developing their products. Although, Google is not entirely a mobile phone company, their designs for product specifications are just as good as any mobile phone manufacturer.
